Round 18 Tips
July 31st 2008 07:21
We're right into the business end of the season now. just 5 rounds to go. Plenty of teams still in the hunt for September action.
I got just 4 tips last week. Upset central.
Friday night is a big one at the 'G. The Magpies are in a vulnerable spot, only in the 8 by percentage, while the Hawks, coming off 2 straight losses, are trying to get their dominance over the league back on track.
Hawthorn by 2 goals
Saturday at the 'G is another big one. The Bombers need wins to get up the ladder, and the Demons would love nothing more than to get off the bottom of the table.
Essendon by 6 goals
Over at AAMI the Crows are looking to get a winning streak up and going to get into a safer spot in the 8, while a big win to the Blues could see them inside the 8 by Monday, possibly at the Crows expense. It would need to be big to get the right percentage boost.
Adelaide by 3 goals
Saturday night at the Dome sees the Cats take on the Tigers. Richmond are knocking on the door to the 8 and a win would more than likely get them in, but the Cats have proved time and time again why they're at the top with just 1 loss this season.
Geelong by 6 goals
On the Gold Coast the Kangaroos take on the Lions. Both teams clinging to the 8 by their teeth. A win to either team would mean another week in the 8.
Brisbane by 4 goals
In Canberra on Sunday the Bulldogs host the Swans. Both teams in the top 4, and wanting to stay there. A loss to Sydney may see them slip to 5th, if the Roos get up. A win to Sydney would open the 2nd spot door to the Hawks.
Western Bulldogs by 2 goals
St. Kilda take on the Power at the Dome Sunday arvo. The Saints record against the power isn't great, but with the finals beckoning, there's a lot to play for.
St. Kilda by 3 goals
Finally, the Western Derby. Strangely, both coming off wins, the Dockers, mathematically can still make the 8, but can just as easily finish 16th.
Fremantle by 2 goals
That's all for this week. Here's hoping its a better week for tippers. Here's hoping your team wins, unless they're against my team or i tipped against them!
