Round 20 Tips
August 14th 2009 02:37
As we approach September very quickly, each game becomes so much more important, as teams fight for the 8 spots to progress in finals football.
First up on Friday night at the MCG is Hawthorn and Adelaide. This should be a big game. The Crows have been very good all year. Hawthorn haven't, but have been better in past weeks, if you ignore the St. Kilda match. Put that with the fact that Hawthorn will be at home, and it should be a good match.
Adelaide by 3 goals.
Saturday afternoon, again at the G, Richmond take on Collingwood. Although the Tigers have shown promising signs, they haven't been promising enough to stop the Magpies.
Collingwood by 9 goals.
Across the desert at Subiaco the Eagles host the Roos. Both teams have struggled this year, but the Eagles have shown better form late in the year.
West Coast by 5 goals
Saturday night in Brisbane (yet again) the Lions play the Dogs. This should be a very competitive match. The Lions are hard to beat at home, and the Bulldogs are coming off a bad loss to the Eagles last week. The Dogs have a very hard run home and need all the wins they can get.
Brisbane by 5 goals
In Sydney at ANZ Stadium the Swans host the Cats. Geelong are coming off a rare loss at the hands of Carlton, and Sydney are coming off a big win over Richmond. It will be more competitive than you would have thought a week ago.
Geelong by 4 goals.
Sunday at the early match at the 'G, Melbourne play Fremantle. Its pretty clear there won't be too many eyes on this game, except Melbourne supporters, who can smell a rare win for the club.
Melbourne by 4 goals.
Sunday still, in Adelaide. Port Adelaide play the Blues. The Blues will be flying high after just beating the Cats, and Port Adelaide will be looking to rebound off their loss to Fremantle.
Geelong by 7 goals.
Sunday Twilight at Docklands (which kinda kills the whole twilight thing, with the roof on), Essendon and St. Kilda. 8 big ins for the Saints should do the job. The 8 young players who came in last week probably could have done the job too.
St. Kilda by 8 goals
That's all for this week. Catch the wrap up of the round early next week, then my tips for round 21 on Thursday or Friday of next week. Happy Tipping.
