Round 21 Tips
August 20th 2009 07:09
Hello again.
Just 2 rounds to go until finals arrive. With some shock results on the weekend, the finals will be looking a little different now.
It started with a comfortable Crows win over the Hawks at the G.
Crows by 27.
Saturday afternoon saw a Tigers drubbing by Collingwood.
Pies by 93.
In the west, the Eagles kept on their winning ways over the Kangaroos.
West Coast by 38.
Saturday night up in Brisbane was an upset win to the Bulldogs. The Dogs had, and still have a hard run home, and needed this win to keep them in a decent spot come finals.
Western Bulldogs by 18.
Down the Highway in Sydney the Cats won, but very unconvincingly. Only just getting over the Swans.
Geelong by 5 points.
Sunday afternoon saw another big win at the G. Melbourne, that's right, Melbourne big winners over Freo.
Melbourne by 63 points.
In Adelaide the Blues handed out another thrashing over the Power.
Carlton by 54.
The talking point of the round at Docklands. Essendon causing the upset that cost St.Kilda a chance to 22 undefeated.
Bombers by 2.
To this week coming now.
Friday night is a huge game. Dogs and Cats. Both coming off wins on the road. The Bulldogs a little more convincing than the Cats. Prepare for a big game. Be ready for a potential upset.
Cats by 2 goals.
Saturday afternoon at Docklands. The Demons, full of confidence, against the Blues, also full of confidence. With a place in September action on the line for the Blues, they should get there.
Carlton by 6 goals.
In Adelaide the Crows host the Eagles. Shouldn't be any problems for the Crows, although the Eagles are in a winning sort of mood. They'll push the Crows. Will be a good challenge for the Crows heading into September.
Crows by 4 goals.
Saturday night in Brisbane. The Lions host the Power. The Power have been unpredictable, but after their performance last year, they shouldn't be much challenge for Brisbane.
Brisbane by 7 goals
At the MCG the Tigers play the Hawks. Both teams have struggled through the year, but Hawthorn have struggled less.
Hawks by 3 goals
Sunday afternoon at Docklands. The Saints looking to bounce back after their first loss, and the Roos will be out to impress their new coach. Won't be enough.
Saints by 6 goals.
At the MCG the Pies play the Swans. Sydney were good against the Cats, but the Pies at home is another story.
Collingwood by 3 goals.
Over in Perth the Dockers, who were hammered last week by the Demons, will host the Bombers, flying high after upsetting the Saints. The Bombers are a bit undermanned, suffering a couple of key injuries last week. Don't be surprised if the home side get up.
Essendon by 3 goals.
After the last round I predict the ladder to look something like this:
St. Kilda 21-1-0
Geelong 19-3-0
Collingwood 16-6-0
Adelaide 14-8-0
Brisbane 13-8-1
Western Bulldogs 13-9-0
Carlton 13-9-0
Essendon 11-11-1
It will be an incredible finals series if this is how it finishes. 2 games in round 22 will decide places within the 8.
